Road Diary 21/04/23 - NYC, NY
Take work on the road, a multi-stop tour for business and pleasure, and an attempt (successful, I’d say) to make business more pleasurable. It all comes back to care, for me. Putting faces to names and getting a chance to be real with people. Getting a chance to be curious, find sites for connection. Build meaningful relationships.
I go from London to Toronto, then Morgan and I continue the rest of the way to Montreal, then south through Vermont and Massachusetts to Connecticut. Meetings and meals in Hartford, a tour of New Haven and a ferry from New London to Long Island. A couple of glorious days on the water leisuring and staying with friends in East Hampton. Then to Brooklyn and Manhattan. I drive the whole way back by myself, through late afternoon and evening, leaving NYC in rush hour, then all the way in the sun and sunset and dusky thunderstorm and pouring rain-night to London, On. To home for a few days.
